Mailnews 95

Internet Mail and News Beta 3 for Windows NT 4.0, an add-on for Microsoft Internet Explorer 3.0b2, is a new SMTP/POP3 mail client that enables you to work online or off-line, sort and store mail any way you like, and view messages quickly in a preview pane. And, a new news reader that enables you to connect to multiple news servers, decodes binary files, and supports the same preview pane as our mail client.
Outlook Express
  • This program is a part of Internet Explorer(IE) 4x from Microsoft® 
  • You can only get it by downloading IE from the Internet or ordering it on CD from Microsoft®
  • The current "release" version is 4.01, there is a "beta" version of 5.0 available.
  • This program allows you to add color, fonts and even sounds to outgoing mail messages or to receive messages containing these objects as well.
Outlook '98
  • This program is a part of Microsoft Office Suite from Microsoft® 
  • You can only get it by downloading it from the Internet or ordering it on CD from Microsoft®
  • As the name indicates, it does everything Outlook Express does, with the addition of being a personal information manager(PIM), as well. It's other features include:
    • A better, more detailed address book
    • WinFax starter from Symantec®
    • Calendar 
    • Task Scheduler

Netscape Messenger
  • This program is a part of Netscape Communicator from Netscape®.

  • The current "release" version is 4.01, there is a "beta" version of 4.5 available.
  • This program allows you to add color, fonts, tables, forms and even sounds to outgoing mail messages or to receive messages containing these objects as well.
Netscape Mail
  • This program is a part of Netscape Navigator and Navigator Gold  from Netscape®.
  • The link above will take you to the Netscape® Section local Windows 95/98 Browser page.
  • The current "release" version is 3.04, but there are versions of 2.x for 486 computers that are older or have 16MB or less RAM, available on the browser page, also.
  • Version 3x of this program allows you to receive messages with color, fonts, tables, forms and even sounds.

  • This is a trial version of the popular email client that helped form the standard for email clients on the Internet.
