I am having MAJOR problems getting any of the Netscape browsers or MIE's on my computer. I have tried on Many Many occasions to load one of the updated versions, both NS and MIE. It says there's not enough memory, I checked before hand, plenty of memory. Sometimes it says it can't copy some really long file name. Those are the problems I am having and I can't even access my e-mail
account using 2.0.

If the web browser you have isn’t getting the job done, try using an ftp program to download files over the Internet. If you don’t know what “ftp” means, you should read the “newbiefaq” at http://www.lctn.com/util/newbiefaq.html . The internet is like anything else, the more you understand, the easier it is to use.

I have recently downloaded SERVICE PACK 1, (for Windows 95 and it seems to work pretty good, now I need SERVICE PACKS 2. Where exactly can I find it?

There is no service pack 2 for Windows 95.

i don't have the little "a" as your page suggested i should have. but i was
confused as to which file (s) i needed to update my win95

Service Pack 1

I JUST UPDATED FROM WIN 3.11 (WG) TO WINDOWS 95, A WEEK AGO,VERSION
4.00.950,  WHICH OF ALL THESE FILES DO I NEED TO MAKE IT VER.4.00.95O (a)
??????????????????????/

Service Pack 1 to begin with then the system update tool included with it should inform you from
there. That tool is located under Accessories/System Tools on the “Start Menu”

I have just started using Netscape Composer and I find two problems. I can edit raw html and
second I can't work with frames at all. Is this normal for Composer?

Netscape Composer has optional settings for use of a text mode html editor located under
“edit|preferences|composer“ see diag #1

I'm trying to figure out how to add a signature to my e-mail but I can't
get it right. There dosen't seem to be much help available to this
topic.

There is no way to determine this since you don’t mention which email program you use. The two that I
use, Netscape and Microsoft Outlook Express both have fairly straight fowrward means of doing this
located in Netscape under “Mail &
Groups | Identity” there is a place where you can browse to a file containing the signature you want to use.
See Diagram # 2

 Digram #2

In OE, the way to fix it is under “Tools | Stationary | Signature” . See Diagram #3

If you’re using anything else, try visiting the company that produced the
software’s website to figure it out.

I found your page on the net, and was hopping you have the upgrade for win95
dial-up networking, but it has been moved. would you have any sugestions on
how i could find this???

Go to http://www.microsoft.com/windows95/   and look at the System Updates Section. This is where you should ALWAYS check for operating system updates for Windows 95. There are some files kept locally and there will soon be a link to a page  for them here.

OK, NETSCAPE LOADED TO A TEMPORARY FOLDER. NOW WHAT DO I DO.

To install a downloaded version of Netscape, Double-click the file you downloaded and follow thew instructions on the screen.

I FOUND SOME NEAT WALLPAPERS THAT I WANT TO USE. I HAVE THEM SAVED AS A ICON ON SCEEN BUT I THINK ONE IS ZIPPED. I DON'T KNOW HOW TO UNZIP AND LOAD AS MY WALLPAPER.

Windows Wallpaper has to be in the Bitmap (.BMP) format to use for that purpose. There are many different Graphics Editors available that will convert images from one format to another by using the "File | Save As" command and choosing the format you want.   After conversion to .BMP format save t5he files to the Folder Windows 95 is installed in, normally "C:\WINDOWS". To change Wallpaper from one to the other choose "Start | settings | Control Panel | Display and the "background tab" there.

To deal with ZIP files, you need a form of PKZIP® or Winzip ®. As with anything strange and new READ the documentation. Windows help files are notorious for being "No Help" files. Better programme4rs are writing better documentation now, but the trick is "learning the lingo" so you understand what they are trying to convey.

I have downloaded Explorer4 and recieve the following: AUTOMATED SCRIPT TERMINAL -
C:\ProgramFiles\Accessories\Hyperterminal\Hypertrm.exe(1):'MZ':Syntex error.

I don't have a fix for this, does anyone else? I would try to download a different copy of active setup and try again.

i have a windows95 verison 4.00.950b do i need to upgrade?

Probably, but you should thoroughly research the upgrade(s) you need, Service Pack 1 IS NOT something you need, you already have it. Go to the Windows 95 Home page at Microsoft and research this question there. You can get the update utility there and it will lead you to what you need and what you do not.

In using Netscape Composer, how do you add frame to the web pages?  I had a
program called "FrameGang", which let you create your own frame, and it will
generate HTML codes.  But, I don't know how you go about pasting or using
Editor to copy codes and things like that.  In fact, I don't know anything.
Can you show me how to create frame with the Composer when using along with
"FrameGang"?  Thanks!!    PLEASEE HELP MEEE!!!!

Try going to http://www.html.org/ and get some documentation on writing html. They have the most recent standards documented in several formats, (including but not limited to Windows Help File).

HI, I am a new pc user and am trying to use dial- up network and/or
hyperterminal.  But I do have a problem, I don't even know what a server is
much less try and find one. can you give me info on how to set up my pc for
dial up?  Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Start at http://www.lctn.com/util/newbiefaq.html  and work your way out and up from there.

I try to access My Computer,I get an error message
saying:
                          Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library
                                   Runtime error
                        Program C:\Windows\Explorer.exe
                        Abnormal Program Termination
And it wipes my icons off the screen, including the taskbar.Do you have any
idea what happened, and how I can fix it?

Yup, I know what happened, You have some corrupt system files. You are definitely in need of scandisk/defrag (See accessories | System Tools on the start menu) and if that doesn't fix it (and it may not) You will need to fully reinstall Windows 95 or restore it from a backup.

I have been looking for a Download file,  VVSERUP.EXE
I think they are Voice View features of Windows 95.
They worked once but after a crash, Quit.

It's at the Windows 95 Home page at Microsoft, it's either under System updates or Driver updates
